Goddess Eris...

This is the representation of the goddess Eris. She is the goddess of discord and chaos, and so I did a lot of editting for this image. In the end, I probably had close to seven layers, and I did a lot of distorting, and playing with the hues and saturations. The stream was actually from a hand firework, and the picture turned out as just a red stream of light. Then I distorted that picture with another picture that was very colorful, and when I took the picture, it looked like someone was moving quickly, even though it was a still picture. I really like the overall picture and portrays the chaos perfectly. :) I know, this picture is really different from my usual work, but I really like it. ;)

Pandora's Box Myth Final Pic

This picture is of my little sister, Emma, and she was wearing this beautiful dress. In the myth of Pandora's Box, or really a jar, according to the primary myth, all of the evils escape from the box when the human, Pandora, opens the box/jar, with the exception of one. The only evil left was hopelessness, showing that even though life can get tough, it's still possible to have hope. I burned the background, witch was my garage, and I used one of Gavin's tricks of adding a light beam. The lighting was good in the original picture, but now I really like the lighting in the final image, because it shows that beam of light, portraying that hope that humans can have. I purposely did not make the girl dark because I wanted to show that just because Pandora did something evil does not mean that we should be able to assume that Pandora is dark and evil for the thing that she did. In the darkness on the right, I translated some of the evils, which came out of the box, into Greek and changed the opacity so it wouldn't be so visible. Also, in the mist at the girl's feet are different words like Pandora, hope (the opposite of the only evil left inside the box) and Anesidora (some say this was her other name) in this Greekish looking font, and changed the opacity levels on those words. The mist at the girl's feet was blurred with a motion blur. I really love how this turned out, and all the work that I took time to do payed in the end. :)

St Patty's day green picture

This was originally a really flat picture of a star that was painted over on my wall before I repainted it. I did a lot of neon glow and played with the layer settings. I also cropped it a lot so I could use the rule of thirds.

A whole new world...

This was originally a picture of bushes ligned up by the lake down on beach road. I don't really like it too much.

Jackie B.Portrait

I really love the way this portrait turned out. At first, it was super grainy and it was very confusing as to where to look, because there was a group of women in brightly-colored shirts that detracted from the true focus of Jackie and the little girl. I blurred the whole thing, then erased Jackie and the little girl, then I flattened the image and duplicated the layers and did it again. I also played with the hues and saturations of the picture, and I added a border to frame it more. I like the coloring in Jackie's hair because it really stands out. I think I could have gotten rid of the red basketball court line, but what's done is done. :)
